The Bee Gees were a global phenomenon in the 1970s – the Australian trio of brothers defined the pulse of the decade and offered the disco generation one hot hit after another. Finland’s most popular vocal ensemble, the multi-platinum selling Rajaton, and the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra bring the sounds of the Bee Gees and the Gibb brothers to life in fresh, lush arrangements, bringing an unprecedented twist to the memorable hits. During the 40th anniversary week of the Kuopio Music Centre, the audience will be treated to touching, but also dance-tickling interpretations for two concerts, on Thursday 4.9. and Friday 5.9.2025.
The talented musician brothers of Gibb, Barry, Robin and Maurice, wrote a huge number of hits for their band, but also for other artists. In these concerts you can enjoy The Bee Gees’ own classics such as If I Can’t Have You, To Love Somebody, More Than a Woman and Staying Alive. Songs made famous by other artists include Barbra Streisand’s Woman in Love, Dionne Warwick’s Heartbreaker and Frankie Valli’s theme song for Grease.
The arrangements for a symphony ensemble are made by Andrew Kesler, Sampo Kasurinen, Jarkko Kiiski, Pessi Levanto and Steven Reineke. The vocal arrangements are by Jussi Chydenius.
